Frequently asked questions
Room by Color is not a retailer, so you do not purchase the design kit's listed products from us. Rather, you have two options:
1. Reference the design kit's shopping list to purchase them yourself. Under this option, you are responsible for finding, purchasing, and coordinating the deliveries of the products from your own vendors. Room by Color has no responsibility over the price and availability of the product.
2. Hiring Room by Color as your purchasing agent to purchase the products from our network of vendors on your behalf. Any in-trade discounts for your order are passed to you. Our fee is based on the final purchase order receipt of the design kit we order for you (after discounts and before taxes and shipping fees).
Return, refund or replacement of products, whether damaged, defective or otherwise, are subject to the warranty and return policies of the product's respective vendor and manufacturer. Carefully inspect all products upon arrival for damages prior to accepting the deliveries. Document any damages and report them to us immediately and to the delivery company. Refer to our Terms of Use for details.
For products purchased through our purchasing agent service, Room by Color will assist you in finding a substitute while resolving the product's issue with the vendor or manufacturer.
Vendors deliver their respective products directly to you. Products are typically delivered through normal delivery services (i.e. UPS, FedEx, or USPS), but some oversized products such as tiles and bathtubs require for curbside deliveries (a.k.a. "sidewalk deliveries"). You are responsible for receiving all deliveries or contracting a mover or contractor to receive and transport curbside deliveries to a designated storage area.
Room by Color's design kits include architectural finish drawings identifying fixture and finish locations and mounting heights. When possible, the design will provide you the product manufacturer's product documentation or website for you to identify and purchase the product with your preferred vendor. You should review all drawings and products with your contractor. Typically, your contractor is responsible for furnishing all necessary parts and labor to safety install the finishes and materials in your design. You may also want your contractor to receive and transport any product deliveries prior to start of construction. The contractor is also responsible for pulling any relevant working permits. All contractors should be licensed and insured for the duration of the project.
